Aalok Patel

Mr. Patel is an undergraduate student at the Georgia Institute of Technology pursuing a BS degree in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Materials Science and Engineering. He joined the NEST lab in the spring of 2019. His research focuses on carbon nanotube rectennas for infrared and optical sensing and energy harvesting. The goal of this research is to improve the efficiency of these rectenna devices. Mr. Patel has experience fabricating rectenna devices using a Thermal Evaporator, as well as both scanning electron microscopy and current-voltage testing to characterize devices. In addition, Mr. Patel has experience with IR spectroscopy, Schlenk line techniques, and capillary viscometry.

Outside of the lab, Mr. Patel enjoys rock climbing, running, and volunteering with Meals on Wheels.
